The Hebrew month of Elul
The Hebrew month of Elul offers us an opportunity to prepare for the High Holy Days ahead. It is a time of introspection. The Torah inspires us to develop our character, Tikkun Middot, becoming better people by correcting our faults and improving our character.
Elul Self-Reflection #2 Rachamim- Being Merciful
Embracing the trait of mercy, pity for those less fortunate than yourself. Think of someone you judge harshly. What keeps you from feeling compassion toward that person?

Can you find a point of connection with them?
If so, might that connection allow you to consider them with more compassion?
