Understanding Elul Day 20- Mini Course. Thank you for joining me on a 29 days journey, as we learn and understand 29 things about the month of Elul. Every day I will post one thing to know about Elul.
What is the 29th day of Elul in 2022?
Leil Selichot (in the Ashkenazi tradition) begins after nightfall on Saturday, September 17, 2022. As Elul is the last month in the Jewish yearly cycle before Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish new year), it is viewed as a month of
reflection on the previous year and looking forward to the next year.
The Hebrew month of Elul
The Hebrew month of Elul offers us an opportunity to prepare for the High Holy Days ahead. It is a time of introspection. The Torah inspires us to develop our character, Tikkun Middot, becoming
better people by correcting our faults and improving our character.
