Elul Customs המנהגים של אלול
Perhaps the best-known Elul tradition is the blowing of the shofar every weekday after morning services.
It is also customary to recite Psalm 27, which speaks of the assurance of God’s protection and includes a plea that God not forsake his people, daily during the month of Elul.
The Hebrew month of Elul
The Hebrew month of Elul offers us an opportunity to prepare for the High Holy Days ahead. It is a time of introspection. The Torah inspires us to develop our character, Tikkun Middot, becoming
better people by correcting our faults and improving our character.
